Wednesday, October 29

NEH ODH Grant Information Overview and Current DH Project Presentations

1:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m.

Technology Square Research Building, Georgia Institute of Technology 

This afternoon session is designed to generate interest in learning more about NEH ODH grant possibilities. It will offer a brief talk by NEH ODH program officer Perry Collins regarding the available grant programs through NEH ODH and an overview of the current projects in the region.

1:00-1:30 p.m.—NEH ODH Available Grant Programs Presentation by Perry Collins (Room: TSRB Auditorium)

1:30-3:00 p.m.— DH Projects in the Southeast Symposium (Room: TSRB Auditorium)

These presentations are designed to be “lightning talks” regarding current DH projects in the Southeastern region. Each institution will be allotted a block of time in which projects will be assigned a portion to give brief, 5-minute presentations

3:00-4:00 p.m. Coffee break

Attendees are encouraged to take this extended break to view the GVU Center Fall 2014 Research showcase on the 2nd floor of TSRB. Projects will feature 25 labs and more than 80 research projects of innovative and interactive computing research.

4:00-5:30 p.m.—Current DH Projects Presentations, Continued (Room: TSRB Auditorium)

5:30-7:00 p.m.—Reception (Room: TSRB Banquet Hall)

Thursday, October 30

8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Department of English and Department of Communications, 25 Park Place, Georgia State University

The sessions for this second day are designed to support and further current DH work. They will include a grant-writing workshop, posters and/or demos about regional projects, and individual scheduled meetings with an NEH ODH representative.

8:00-10:00 a.m.— Individual Meetings with an NEH ODH Representative (9th floor)

This workshop will focus on ways to compose more effective grant proposals for participants drafting or planning to draft an NEH ODH grant proposal. To participate in this event, please contact your local organizer.

10:00-10:30 a.m.— Coffee break

10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.— Grant Writing Workshop led by Perry Collins (Troy Moore Library, 23rd floor, Room 2343)

12:30-1:30 p.m.— Lunch break

1:30-3:10 p.m.— Individual Meetings (continued) and Regional DH Demos (9th floor)

The Demo session will present tech demos and poster presentations of regional DH work. Participants will be allowed to set-up a presentation within the given space and present and discuss projects with attendees.

3:10-3:30 p.m.— Coffee break

3:30-4:50 p.m.— Individual Meetings (continued) and Regional DH Demos (continued)

Regional DH Demos

This session will present tech demos and poster presentations of regional DH work. Participants will be allowed to set-up a presentation within the given space and discuss the project with attendees. To participate in this event, please contact your local organizer.

Individual Meetings with an NEH ODH Representative

These individual meetings will allow project representatives to discuss questions or project ideas with NEH ODH representatives and receive feedback. For this session, institutions will be allotted a block of time in which its affiliated projects will assigned portions for speaking with the representative. To participate in this event, please contact your local organizer.
